Password Problem

Post by castro » 23 Apr 2008, 14:14

Line 50 version 11.01
I have been using this software for over two years without any problems.
I enter the program using manager and no password.
Yesterday, I needed to restore another set of data.
The restore was ok.
I entered "manager" as usual but got the message "incorrect password".
I have never set a password.
I reinstalled the software having first uninstalled the existing program.
The new install worked but when I opened the program I did not get the new install "welcome" sequence but it went straight to the login page.
I entered "manager" but got the same "incorrect password" message.
I guess the uninstall does not totally remove all the program.
I then installed the software on my laptop with no problems, so I know the disc is ok.
Can anybody help me to alleviate this problem please.
My official sage support has lapsed.

Sounds like you have restored a set of data with a password.

Dependant on your version of sage, the details vary.

But what you can do is to manually delete the dataset

Sage should them prompt you to create a new dataset, you can then restore your good backup with data for which you know the password.
