Hi guys
My first post here so please be gentle
The company I work for use Line 50 for stock control only!
Line 50 is installed on a standalone PC (first PC) and it works just fine for the purpose.
In the same room is another PC (Second PC) that also had Line 50 installed and accessed the data from the first PC across the network. Both PCs are in the same workgroup.
Unfortunately the second PC has failed and a new hard drive fitted with Windows XP Pro. The PC has been set to the same workgroup and can see the 'shares' of the first PC.
We want to install Line 50 on the second PC so it can access the data stored on the first PC - just as before.
I seem to recall there's a quick way of doing this rather than having to input all the company info again - year end, etc etc. I've forgotten how to do this.
Can anyone help please?
Many thanks
John

The first pc is your server. It holds the program and your data.
The second pc should have the program installed from the cd, then when going through the active set up wizard on this second pc you can select where the data is you wish to link to. The option is to link to an existing set of data on a networked company, or using an existing company and browse. You browse to the folder which contains the accdata folder (you do not browse to include accdata in your path.
If you have installed the program on the second pc and already gone through the active set up wizard then you will have a blank data set on the second pc and you wish to link to the data on the first pc.
The file 'Company' which is a file held within the program files on each pc holds the path to the data. If you delete this file you get the active set up wizard again. Or you can open this file in notepad and add the path manually. Hope this helps.....any more queries let me know or give me a ring on 01207 581717, Jill Keeler....

The quick way is to map the share to a network drive letter, find the netsetup.exe program on that drive and run it.
