related to the intercompany loans questions I asked earlier!

Post by RUTLANDBELLE » 03 Jan 2008, 12:46

Hi again
I asked earlier about posting loans between a new company and an old company, to which I received a brilliant reply which solved the problem. HOWEVER, I am now doing a bank rec. and stupidly I had entered an opening balance of 500, (which was the loan amount!) AND the loan as a separate transaction. So now - obviously - I can't reconcile the bank account as I have 500 too much! I can't change the opening balance, apparently, so I am not sure what to do now.
any help would be much appreciated
many thanks
best wishes
Lorna

the opening balance would have been against another nominal account, might be a journal

Look at the transaction in the audit history and see where it went if it is a journal you will have to do a reversal, if it is a BR or BP then you could delte the transaction in File>Maint>Error Correct
