Hi Everyone,
I am an online seller selling on eBay, Amazon & my own website I use Sage 50 2013 for my accounting, order processing and stock management. My orders are all downloaded via third party software that is provided by Tradebox.uk.com, TB then posts the orders to sage with all the relevant customer details. From there, I use to print of the orders using a customised invoice report within sage this works well for 40-50 orders per day but as time goes on and orders increase this system will become more and more inefficient. With this in mind I set about streamlining my order processing system my first point of call was the invoices, for the invoices I utilised the Sage email feature and it works brilliant, no more integrated label sheets no more folding invoices couldn’t be happier with the email feature.
Using sage labels & reports I now print customised shipping labels for each customer and 1 picking list for all customers. Both documents have common data types i.e. order ID, Name, Stock Code…
I want to align the print order of both these document’s by the SKU product codes or in Sage terms “STOCK_CODE” based on the logic that the order picker can count how many customers have ordered the same item, walk to the product location once and pack all the related orders at the same time.
Via SAGE REPORT DESIGNER > REPORT > SORTS; I have set both the label and report to order the printed documents by the “INVOICE_ITEM.STOCK_CODE ASC” thinking that it would print both sets of documents in alphanumeric order based on the Stock codes and keeping all related stock together but this has not worked and I cant figure out why.
The Shipping Labels do print in order but the pick list orders itself by the customer Account Reference, I have tried to delete the customer account reference but it has no affect and the unwanted order remains the same.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful am I missing something?
Thanks
Martyn
