IMport Button "Greyed OUT"

Post by wobbly1 » 30 Jan 2015, 17:07

Good afternoon all
I am using Sage 50 Accounts 2012 V18.1.0.20 and have previously been able to import product records/data files from excel.

For some unknown reason this is now not possible - I am getting the error message

"Unable to read any fields from the data you're trying to import. Please check the file or try using a different format."

The product records files are quite large could this be the issue?

I have of course tried different formats and the other issue is that this message is being displayed PRIOR to setting the field headings?

The Data Source option is also limited as the button to select "Excel worksheet (*xls,*xlsx) is greyed out and cannot be used?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

To import form excel format you must have a compatible version of excel installed.

Good morning, thanks for the input, we do have updated ms software and have been able to import records previously, we are at a loss to understand why the import process suddenly decided to abort in the manner described as we have made no changes to the processes previously used?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

kind regards

What version of MS Office are you now running?

Is it a 32 bit version compatible with the Sage 50 V2012?
