Sage 50 and Mapi export

Post by sageman » 27 Jan 2015, 22:55

Hi I prey someone can help me with this. I have sage accounts 50 professional 2010 running on windows 7 and with office 2010. I have two machines exeactly the same spec. But one fails when I try to email an invoice via mapi as any attachment. The application just hangs and the event viewer has the following error.

The program SBDDesktop.exe version 2.0.0.91 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

Can you confirm that both machines are running the same version of Office 2010 and they are both on the 32 bit version.

Can you give me the full version number of the report designer.

Have you got a single profile in Outlook on both machines or has one got more than one?

In outlook you can set up multiple profiles.

See https://support.office.com/en-nz/articl ... edff7642fc

If you don't know about them it is unlikely you have done it.

Can you confirm that both machines are running the same version of Office 2010 and they are both on the 32 bit version.

Can you confirm that Outlook is working and can send emails.

Can you give me the full version number of the report designer.

Are there any other Sage products installed on either PC?

How far can you get in creating a manual email from Sage using the ... button next to the email address in the customer record.

If you the test report in the report designer and

go to tools>options>email setup what is the default provider set to on each machine are all the same providers listed?
go to the email properties and see what provider the report is using.

Could you please triple check the Report Designer Version number on both machines.

HI

Ive checked both version of the designer and they are the same. The strange thing is that when I click on print in the report designer it either has the error message “Settings to access printer are not valid” to a printer that no longer exists. or on some reports it shows the error message no printers are installed. I've seen the forum posts about changing the printer settings but its not set in the properties. Also in my report designer I don't have the option to set default email default provider.

Ah!!!

Are you producing a PDF to email?

Can you export a report on screen to PDF?

If the PDF is not working then you are going to have issues with emails sent as PDF's

Are you on a 64 bit operating system?

Have you installed the pdf update?

Ah!!!

Are you producing a PDF to email?

yes its sending a PDF to email I goto to invoices press print and then it beings up the invoice templates. I then click the template and press email it then prompts to send as an attachment and then asks what type so I enter MAPI and PDF its at that point after the box is clicked it just hangs and the above error involving the splwow64.exe

Can you export a report on screen to PDF?
where about's do I this ? What puzzling me with all this is these machines are exactly the same build from OS to SAGE yet one works and the other fails.

If the PDF is not working then you are going to have issues with emails sent as PDF's

Are you on a 64 bit operating system?

yes

Have you installed the pdf update?

I did install the PDF update driver still didn't work.

You need to do the pdf update and get pdf printing to work.

Not sure if Sage still have the updates on their website, I have a copy here if you need it.
