Can't Log On

Post by Antony65m » 20 Apr 2007, 10:34

We can not log on to sage on our networked computer

A message comes up "error accessing file on C;\Program Files Line 50

The system cannot find the path specified"

We are using Windows XP

Any Ideas

I am not a computer expert so please be gentle

Cheers

The path is incorrect the ; should be a : and there should be a \ between program files and sage.

Those could just be errors in your transcription of the error message.

It appears to be looking on it's local C: disk for data, the data would normally be located on the server.

Is this a new installation or has this PC worked fine in the past?

Sounds like it has lost the data apth.

Find the file called company in the c:\program files\sage\accounts directory edit it with notepad

It contains one line of text being the path to the sage accdata folder.

Change it so it is correct

This could have happened because drive z: got disconnected.

Recent versions of Line 50 no longer require mapped network drives you can use the unc name e.g. \\server\share\directory\accdata
