Practice Data in Sage Line 50 2015
Practice Data in Sage Line 50 2015
Hi.
We upgraded last year to v21, Sage Line 50 2015, and there are still things I can't find out.
I would like to use the Demo Data or Practice Data section to experiment and also to open backup data but I can't see how to do that.
I have tried copying the contents of the Company.000 folder into the Practice folder, but that hasn't worked.
It may be complicated by the fact that when it upgraded, Sage created a 2015 folder but actually runs from the 2011 folder. Everything I have tried, I have tried in both.
Can anyone help?

Hi, thanks for replying.
Handily, Sage put the program name everywhere.

When I open either the practice data or demo data, whether I select Start Again or Continue with Last Practice, whether I rebuild from scratch or select keeping all elements (invoices, customers, suppliers etc) by check box, the result is the same.
I just need to know which data to move and where to put it.

Re: Practice Data in Sage Line 50 2015
Well you have the demo data showing, if you select demo data, and log in, you should be in a separate company.
Is this not what you are experiencing?
If not go to help about and there you should see the data path, this should be different to your normal company data path.
If you have been copying data sets, then you may have put your company data in the demodata...

Re: Practice Data in Sage Line 50 2015
Right, thanks, I've got it.
It's running the program from the 2015 folder but saving the company data in the 2011 folder.
Normal operation saves the data to Accounts/2011/Company.000 but the practice and demo data has to go in Accounts/2015/Practice.
Also I had to uncheck the Reset Data check box and select each check box on the list.
