Sage V19 - Nominal Ledger blank in one view
Sage V19 - Nominal Ledger blank in one view
Hi Bruce and All,
We've just noticed a strange problem with our version of Sage Line 50, Professional 2013, V19.01.11.285
On the Company screen, the Nominal report, Chart of Accounts is blank (i.e. has no figures) in it when we use the 'Analyser' view. If we switch to 'List' view the figures for sales and expenses all appear and seems to be correct.
We can see the sales invoice figures in all other views on Company and Customer screens. It just seems to be this page.
Any suggestions?
Tim

"Chart of Accounts is blank (i.e. has no figures)"
So you can see the headings
You can expand headings and see sub headings
just zeros against them or blanks against them
or sub headings not appearing?
Is the current chart of accounts valid?
Open COA and run the check the default chart has sensible things in it and is not a partial one, perhaps try a different coa

Re: Sage V19 - Nominal Ledger blank in one view
Hi Bruce,
I can expand each heading to one level - so Total Sales, expands to the next level which is also called Total sales. There are no sub levels below this. Which indicates if this report is totalling individual Nominal code totals this could be where the fault lies.
The location where figures should appear is Blank.
I'm using the default Chart of Accounts, and it was showing figures until recently.
I've created a new chart of accounts and this too is blank.

Hi Bruce,
It does it on all PCs, including the Server.
Switching to the demo data - the problem goes away and the Chart of Accounts if fully populated.
Switch back to my company data - it's blank again.

Sounds like there is a problem with the chart of accounts definitions.
Can you create a new chart and see if that works.

Re: Sage V19 - Nominal Ledger blank in one view
Hi Bruce,
OK.
So I've created a new Chart of Accounts - saved it and then on the report screen changed the View from 'Default chart of accounts' to 'test' (the one I've created).
Again the List view shows all the financial figures, the Analyser view is blank.
I've changed the view settings from All to Various months - same result as above.
I've changed the show prior years to yes - again same result, data is there on the List but not on the Analyser view.
Gone to the Chart of account buttons at the top of the menu bar (which I used earlier to create the test COA) and opened the new Test report to look at how it is being constructed and it seems to be identical to the original Default. Only difference now is once saved, the Test report has the word PARTIAL appended to it.

Re: Sage V19 - Nominal Ledger blank in one view
If the chart has the word PARTIAL on it then it is not a valid chart.
Run the check option, find the issue, fix it and see if it then works.

Re: Sage V19 - Nominal Ledger blank in one view
Hi Bruce,
I've run the Check routine on both my test report and also the Original Chart of accounts.
The report states that virtually every nominal code is missing from the report.
It's 3 pages long with identical errors as follows:
"Nominal code 9999 is not represented in the chart" (With only the number changing.).
I can't see a easy way of fixing the COA so I think I'm at the point of asking if you can undertake this work for me please Bruce?
