Including stock value

Post by ronnieg » 22 Aug 2014, 10:09

We carry a small amount of stock but for some reason its value doesn't appear on the trial balance, P&L or Balance Sheet.

it's our first year-end so I'm wondering if Sage was set up initially to ignore stock and if so can I change it at this stage?

You need to do a stock journal at the end of each accounting period to "revalue" the stock.

This is not always as straight forward as you may have categories of stock that have been written down in value, if this is the case you need to run a stock valuation report and then do a journal manually.

see http://support.makingithappen.co.uk/sag ... asect2.htm

If all your stock is correct then you can use the wizard Modules>Wizard>Open Closing Stock
