We have a strange problem, running Sage 50 Accounts 2010 on Windows 2008. This installation has two companies installed.
When User A logs on and connects to Company Alpha, then runs (e.g.) a Late Debtors report, they get the report as expected. However, if User B logs on and connects to Company Beta (with User A still logged on to Company Alpha), re-running the report produces data from Company Beta!
This problem manifests itself in both directions, e.g. if User A logs out and back in, User B would then receive details for Company Alpha in their report. This doesn't allow direct access to the data or allow manipulation, it only seems to affect the reporting function.
This one has us stumped. Any assistance anyone can provide would be most welcome. Obviously if any more details are needed I'll provide what I can.
Thanks in advance,
Mike Holden

Re: Wrong company data appearing in reports!
Does it matter what sage username is used to log in?
Try creating an new sage user "userC" and see if that changes things.
What is the version number Help About > full big long number eg 18.234.54232
What operating system is being used for the workstations and the server.
Windows 2008 is a server operating system... are you using remote desktop?

Re: Wrong company data appearing in reports!
The version is 16.00.17.0154 (Sage Accounts Plus 2010)
The sessions are running under RDP to a windows 2008 32 bit server.
The issue presents with new sage users and also with new windows logins.
I'm beginning to think it's certainly connected with the user accounts. If we have an account with the same username and password on both companies, logging on to Company Beta with the new account then means that the user logged onto Copmany Alpha gets data from Company Beta in their report! But if the account password is different you actually get a prompt for credentials. So it seems that the act of a user logging on and connecting to Company Beta causes the database connection already in place for Company Alpha to somehow end up pointing at the wrong company.
It's very puzzling, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Wrong company data appearing in reports!
Did you follow the directions for setting up for Remote Desktop Environment, there is an extra manual for it ...
It wasn't supported as an environment till V2011, but I suspect it may resolve issues
http://support.makingithappen.co.uk/dow ... tility.pdf
The latest build is 16.0.17.0158 you are missing an update, you can get it from http://www.sage.co.uk/au
Version 2010 is no longer supported by Sage so you might like to consider upgrading, however as your product is "end of life" the cost of upgrading is much higher than normal.

Hi,
That was exactly the issue - the minor version upgrade has fixed a major problem!
Many thanks for the prompt and helpful replies.
