e-mail defaults
I have just started having problems e-mailing invoices to customers after successfully doing so for many months. In the end I found that in Settings - E-mail Defaults the e-mail provider was shown as Gmail and not Yahoo Mail which I use. So I changed the e-mail provider to Yahoo and the other settings then showed up correctly in the rest of the dialog box. I then clicked apply and selected the layouts required. When that was done I clicked OK. If I do something else in the accounts and go back to this dialog box all is still OK. However, having closed the program, the next time I open the Sage Accounts Gmail has reappeared! Try as I may I cannot find out why this is happening and would be most grateful for any assistance.

Many thanks

Re: e-mail defaults
The emails settings need to be applied on all PC's they are not centralised.

Re: e-mail defaults
Thanks very much for your reply. I only use one PC for accounts and general office work. As I said all worked fine until very recently so I don't know what happened or why it reverts back to gmail every time I re-open the Sage Accounts.
Thanks again
Tim

Re: e-mail defaults
I assume you are using SMTP as the default email provider.
I assume by email provider you mean email client.
The email client doesn't AFAIK make a whole lot of difference, all it seems to do is to preset the servername and port and some other bits.
--------------------------
I think you should.
Open up any report in the report designer.
Tools>Options>Email Setup>SMTP>Configure
Make changes to use "Webmail - Yahoo! Mail!" rather than "Webmail - GMail".
Press OK
Press Test enter an email address make sure it works.
Press OK
Close Report Designer
check it all works,
close and open sage check it all works and it has not reverted.
----------------
If this does not work, repeat the process only use "Webmail - Other"
You will also need to enter the servername which is smtp.mail.yahoo.com and the port which is 587.
SSL is unticked
You need to select "Use username and password" not "Use logged-on user details"
Let me know how you get on.

Re: e-mail defaults
Sorry to have been so long responding to your advice. Finally nailed my feet to the office floor!!!
I have tried everything you suggested. The first part did not work. On the second suggestion I could not find anything under reports.tools.option (etc) that says Webmail - other. But I did this under Settings - E-mail defaults and still it reverts to Gmail next time I close and open sage.
I am very happy to pay a reasonable sum to get this problem resolved. I cannot understand why it is happening when all worked fine until recently.
Many thanks
