Hiya
Currently I've got a strange problem where when I click email on any of the layouts under the invoice module, it says 'the report has successfully output to e-mail' but when you go to drafts in outlook nothing appears? However when you email something from the sales order list it works fine and a message does appear in drafts. What I have noticed is that when the dialog saying 'processing commands' appears on sage, it does so for about 2 seconds when it is working properly, and for invoices it barely pops up, giving the impression it didn't load anything.
What is annoying is that it worked absolutely fine about a week ago, but I think I went to settings > invoice defaults and then for invoices I clicked apply changing the settings for all the layouts under the invoicing module, and ever since then it hasn't seemed to work. I don't really know how to undo the 'applied' changes either. Currently I am having to make do with just exporting each invoice and emailing them separate.
I will appreciate any help you have on this.

Sage supports several different emailing options and these can be set differently on each report.
You can use MAPI/Outlook and have the messages in your Inbox/Drafts by selecting Save emails to mailbox
You can use MAPI/Outlook and have the messages sent right away by selecting Send immediately.
You can use SMTP in which case they are just sent right away and you do not see them in outlook at all.
All these setting are under the "email options" property on the report.
I suggest you have a look at yours and change them as you want them to be.
It is fairly common to send bulk things like invoices immediately and to hold things like chasing letters in the mailbox for that all important personalisation before they are sent.

I know about the choices of MAPI/SMTP/Outlook, mine was set to Outlook as it is for sales orders and invoices. I changed it to MAPI and the same occurred. I don't want to use SMTP.
What I am saying is for all sales orders layouts everything works fine, but for all invoice layouts it doesn't, even though the email settings are exactly the same. The settings on the report are exactly the same from when it used to work, so I don't believe they need changing. I tried creating another invoice layout which wouldn't have been affected by the whole procedure of applying settings (going to settings > invoice defaults > invoices > apply changes to the settings for all the layouts under the invoicing module), but it didn't work. I tried logging in as a different user, but it didn't work, so reinstalling sage wouldn't be worthwhile.

You have verified that the email option settings on the reports are correct so this is a very strange situation and there is no more I can do without entering the realms of chargeable support.

I think I have found a solution for my own problem, just thought I'd post it on here in case anyone else runs into it.
I think the initial problem had occurred because when I had applied invoice settings, it was trying to apply the settings to about 30 layouts which was taking forever, and because it was taking so long, I clicked cancel which crashed sage so I then had to reopen it. This must have sort of 'infected' all the layouts in the invoice module so that they couldn't be emailed properly.
I then just decided to build a test invoice from scratch (going to new on layouts), and copied pretty much everything from a previously working invoice, copied the email settings, clicked save and then clicked email - annnd it worked
... an invoice now appears in my drafts.
So to summarise, starting an invoice from scratch (however laborious that is) seemed to fix it, as it would have default settings.
