I am looking at some demo data in Sage Line 50 2007 and an trying some ideas with department codes.
You now seem to have the ability to set up alphanumeric department codes ie S001, J001, etc, but to me it seems like you cannot use them as the report criteria only allows numeric entry.
Am I doing something silly or is this new functionality a red herring ?
Thanks
PW

Well we don't know what was intended.
Departments got a major revamp with the 2007 release to allow for budgeting.
I did a quick test of an alpha numeric department, and a number greater than 999 the report writer did not like either.
All you need to know is what you have already found out, using anything outside the range 001-999 will cause issues with the reporting.
This is what Sage call an "Undocumented Feature"
