Capitalise in Sage Line 50

Post by Vonny » 22 Nov 2006, 22:12

I want to capitalise some IT equipment, but can't seem to get it right.

If I journal from 8300 (Computer expense) to 0030 (computer equipment) that would make it a balance sheet item

But, when I pay for the equipment will that reduce the BS figures which I want to depreciate

Of course the MD had to phone late and ask for changes for a 9am meeting tomorrow and my brain is asleep

Any help gratefully appreciated

thanks

When you pay the item it will be a transaction betwen the bank and the creditors control account and will not touch the assett account
