E mailing statements
Hi
Is it possible to automatically e mail statements using the email addresses already assigned to each sails account? I already use the transaction e mail system to send invoices for about 80 customers.
I run Sage Accounts Plus 2008 v14.0.13.154
I have already tried to set up the report email system in report designer. However when I try to e mail an individual report it says I have not set up the report email system yet.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give

Re: E mailing statements
Yes.
If you're running an email report and getting that response it's usually because either a) you haven't set up the email options correctly in report designer or b) you have and the email address in the customer record is blank.
And then there are idiosyncrasies surrounding Office & Outlook versions... And in some versions (12 & 13 from memory) what worked fine from Print > Email didn't work from Print > Preview > Email (depending on Office version..)
Er, I think I'm saying "more detail, please".. Exact versions and click paths would be nice
But it works without demurr if you run it for all of them? That's odd.devonia259 wrote:However when I try to e mail an individual report it says I have not set up the report email system yet.

Re: E mailing statements
Hi
The invoices all go as expected, no problems at all. It is the statements that are problematic. I have tried to set up the e mail options in report designer but there are only a few options so I cannot see what I am doing wrong. Any help here would be appreciated.
Even with the options set up will sage automatically send the statements like it does the invoices.
Sage version given earlier. Outlook version 2007(12.0.6514.5000) SP2 MSO(12.0.6425.1000)
In sage I will highlight a customer I know has an e mail and is ticked to do transaction E mail. Hit statement and then highlight the usual staement I use(the one with my details). Hit generate report, then when report is up I will hit E mail.It then says that E mail options are not fully configured do I want to send report as an attachment. This will then work but is laborious for 80 customers.
Can you help.
Thanks
Neil

Hi
I have been using the same report as I do for ordinary statements. I have tried using the E mail statements but nothing seems to happen.
Thanks for your help

Re: E mailing statements
The outlook integration is a mess. Use SMTP and cc yourself if you have problems with it.

The last post on this thread was a year ago. Did it ever get resolved because I'm having exactly the same problem?
Re: E mailing statements
Here's what's happening when I try to send Statements by email.
I highlight the recipient and click Statement. I scroll down to "e-Mail Statement O/S only" and highlight it and click edit. Once in Report Designer I go to Tools/Options/Email Setup. I'm using Outlook 2007 so I choose "MAPI" and then click "Configure" Then "Use Default Provider"
When I run this template and click the "Email" icon, it goes through the motions but instead of sending the email to the recipient it just puts it in my own inbox even though I have the customers default email setup in their account.
I just can't see anything else that needs setting. Please help!
Thank you and regards,
Steve

Re: E mailing statements
This is the correct behaviour for sending email fromt he inbox, once you have them in your inbox you open them and press send on each one.
If you do not want that behaviour use SMTP or the Send Automatically option.
