Writing off bad debts in US dollar customer a/c on sage

Dear All

I am trying to write off some bad debts in my customer US dollar a/cs. Sage L50 financial controller wont let me do this as it is not in the base currency (which is GBP). I have had to resort to using credit notes. I know this isnt correct but it is the only way I can find to do it as yet.

Please help!

I don't think it is incorrect.

I think it is an intelligent way to resolve the issue.
For just about anything Sage :- Discount subscriptions, pay-as-you-go support, application integration, reports, layouts, linked excel spreadsheets, analysis or any other help making life with sage easier/less time consuming Contact me.
