Import Layout

Post by Mrbrianobrien » 19 May 2008, 09:23

I want to add a new report design to the sales order print menu - Is there a way to import an existing report instead of creating a new report. Copying and pasting elements does not seem to work.

Thanks

there is no way to import one. But you can achieve what you want, I think.

Edit the existing layout and do a "save as" give it a new name (probably a good idea to give it a new description to) and it should get you what you want.

Thanks - I tried that but when I go to print I now I get an error saying "no data can be returned for that report". The data comes through on the Report Designer preview with all the correct data.

Thanks

That is strange.

Perhaps you changed something in the report that is causing the error?

Take a standard report that works. Open it in the editor, make no changes, do a "save as" and give it a new name and check it still works before you make any changes.

What version are you running?, networked or single user?

Thanks for your help - I am running a networked of Ln 50 version 14. I have isolated the problem in that it is only for completed orders that I cannot print a despatch note - is this a default setting? It is handy to print s despatch note even if the order is complete as sometimes Despatch notes need to be reprinted
