This user name is already in use

Post by Ben C » 01 Mar 2008, 20:50

Line 50 ver 10.02 single user on XP sp2 froze whilst importing data.

When I tried to restart it I got the message "This user name is already in use Do you want to remove this user from the request list and logon again? If I answer yes I am warned that doing so may cause data corruption. Pressing Yes to continue produces "Runtime error program D:\program files\sage\accounts\sage.exe abnormal program terminatiom" and it then freezes. I have uninsalled & re installed several times and deleted any files I can see that are left over, including the sage entry in regedit.

Any ideas please?

Many Thanks

Regards

Ben

I must say that your symptoms sound slightly different to the normal user blocking after an abnormal termination. However this is the one I used and may be worth a try!

There is a file in Accdata called Queue.dta

Close the program and delete this file (using windows explorer). Then reopen the program. This should do the trick.

EDIT - Probably a good idea to back up first!!!

Hi Coastcard,

Thanks for your reply.

I decided in the end to give the pc a spring clean and start from fresh so all is well now.

Thanks Again

Regards

Ben
