Unable to do any reports on this financial year

Post by speedbirdab » 30 May 2007, 20:37

Newbie here...

Using Sage line 50 v12.01 etc. etc.

Having set up for the new financial year beginning 1st April (the fool I hear you mutter), I have loaded many invoices, payments and so on without problems, managed to prepare the VAT return, but am unable to get a number of financial reports out of the system - running something like P&L report for month 1 to 2 gives me 2 error messages -
'There are errors in your chart of accounts. Your Financial reports may be incorrect as a result'
followed by
'No information found for this report.'

Nothing any more helpful - this happens for Budget reports and balance sheet reports too. Run anything that simply lists transactions and it's fine.
Any thoughts? what have I missed?!

You need to fix the errors in your chart of accounts. (I suspect that it may be empty)

Edit the set you are using (probably the only one) and use the check button to find out what is wrong.

Fantastic, thanks that was it - the defaults were empty - all behaving beautifully now (though I've probably got plenty of the sections wrong at least it is giving some numbers now! :D
