Re: Data Error

Very valid point. Everyone should have off-site backups and take manual backups often.

Re: Data Error

Depends which version you are on. Our backup stopped working because it had an error and I had to ring Sage and get the data sent off

Re: Data Error

If you have a later version of Sage with the automatic backup you can set to run overnight it won't work if you have an error. It just runs the Check data then stops.

Re: Data Error

Also the issue with Sage is that their Data Fix times can vary - I was quoted 3 days to fix (with us having Sagecover Extra) - we can't not run Sage for 3 days. So we used another person like Bruce who was able to do it overnight and charged a couple of £100

I then switched to a Business Partner to ...

Re: 'hanging' when cahnging default nominal code

I've just upgraded to V23 and this is happening to an accounts user. So it was working fine with V22. Will this still be an anti-virus issue ?77

Re: Report Designer Finding Things Help Please

If you rename the Analysis codes, it doesn't change the actual field name in the database. So if you look in the Report Designer - select View and then Variables - look at the tables on the list and select the table Sales_Order the 3 custom fields fields are ANALYSIS_1, ANALYSIS_2 and ANALYSIS_3 no ...

Re: Sage data file name

Sorry Michelle it's a whole load of data files ending in .dta plus other file extensions - about 470 of them. But if you find a file called ACCDATA.INI and can recover all the files in the same directory that should do it.

Stupid question - have you checked in your recycle bin for any Sage stuff ...

Re: Sage data file name

Basically you have to find either the last usuable backup of your company - the .001 file, or find an old version of your sage 50 data.

For the backup, the .001 file have you ever emailed it ? If so look in the sent items folder to find it. Otherwise do a search for all the .001 files on your ...

Re: Price increases with mixed currency customers

If you just entering your discounts manually, I would set up two prices lists -1 for GBP, 1 for Euro. Assign all the GBP customers to the GBP price list and the Euro to the Euro. Then you can adjust the GBP price list by say 10% and it will leave the Euro one alone.

Re: Sage installs but when I click icon nothing happens!?

It may be this:

"if the splash screen appears briefly then disappears after installing the Sage 50 Accounts v22 - February, April or May 2016 Improvements update, please follow these steps:

Windows key > in the search box type %temp% > Enter.
Double-click the SageAccounts folder.

Minimum Order value

Any one got an idea how to do a minimum value Order ?

For people to buy spares we charge a minimum of £35 an order. Quite a few orders are below this. What we have to do currently is for instance: put a stock item on with a quantity of 3 and then have to work it out to £35, so the example would be ...

Re: Sage Line 50 V8 VAT return issue

Sage will ask you to buy Sagecover Extra as that includes the upgrade to the latest version. The price depends on No of Users, No of Companies etc. However it's not as simple as that, you cannot upgrade to V22 straight away you will have to upgrade to another version first. So there will be the cost ...

Re: Date format issues driving me crazy

The problem is a Microsoft one, not a Sage one. Microsoft assumes everyone wants to enter dates in US format and will often put them in the US format even when UK is chosen, there was a known issue with XP and ME as Bruce said previously. If you work across a network, check that the server is not in ...
