Hello,

I have a problem restroring a backup of Sage Line 50 v7, the computer that was running Sage v7 died and the owner does not have the original disks to re-install 7 to restore their backed up data. I have Sage accounting 2009 v15 which is not compatible, apparantly I need to restore the files to Sage line 50 v11 or older first then backup again to open the files in v15.

I spoke to Sage who said the owner will need to purchace V15 and then they will send v11 with it to convert the data.

The owner does not want to spend the £400 on software they will not use (they just need to send the data to an account running V15) As the company no longer trades (credit crunch )

I have seen data conversion services offered - does anyone know if these are legit or of anything else I could try?

I expect they are fine, your local sage reseller will do it for you for a small fee, if you don't have one I will do it for you for a small fee.

I managed to find someone with Version 11 installed and they backed it up for me.

Can delete the post or set it to resolved?
