error SBDdesktop.exe

Post by curlewhaugh » 05 Oct 2008, 10:54

As this posting will no doubt prove, I am very inexperienced on Sage Line 50.
The version I have is v13.02.
This is my first posting, so sorry if I am asking the 'blooming obvious'. I have searched through the archives and have come across the error message above, but nothing seems to relate to my exact problem.
The full error message is - 'SBDdesktop.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.'
On restoring client data (Sage Instant accounts), the error message comes up. The software then freezes. I close down the sofftware through Task Manager, and when I reopen Sage, the data seems to be there. However, when I try and get a preview of the Profit and Loss Report for example, the error message re-appears and the software again freezes. I have uninstalled and reloaded the software a number of times, and also ensured no Sage files are left on the computer. The problem on restoring client data however will not go away. Any advice would be most gratefully received.

Have you applied all the updates to your version of Sage 50 as per the article I pointed you to?

Your version should be 13.03.36.0168

If updates don't fix it then come back to me.
