I appreciate that help is available for line 50 and payroll in this forum but I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on Job Costing V8.01. It is linked to Line 50 V7 on an NT 4 server and from an XP work station, I attempted to do a backup in job costing and the backup failed due to portable hard disk failure. This caused Job Costing and Line 50 to freeze and we had to reboot without closing down properly. When I tried to do a backup again in Job Costing, I got an error message saying something like “cannot backup due to user being logged inâ€

If you log in with the user name that is in use, it should clear it.

Thank you very much for your reply but I have tried this and it doesn't work. The precise error message is "backup/restore can only be performed when there are no other users of the current company. Please check that all users are logged out of sage job costing before retrying". I copy the acc data file to a separate pc off the network and it has restored the same problem.

What users are showing as being logged in?

Even though I'm testing it on my stand alone pc at home, it's showing 2 users as being logged in - kathy and myself.

log in as kathy, then log out... and your problem should go away.
