Any advice gratefully received...
I have Line 50 vs. 9.10.0042... with the upgrade to take it to 0043. All works great.
Problem is I need to install again on new network computer and use existing company data.
Have installed software and when I add the exe file SG5091LMSP1 to Upgrade it to the 0043 version it says that this is successfully installed.
Then when I use the sage wizard to find the company data, it comes up with an error message saying that no data was found and that i can only convert data from line 50 version 4,5,6,7,8,and DOSV9. I cannot get past this.
Am I missing a trick here. Can anyone tell me how I might import my existing company data.
Big thanks in advance.
N.

Manually edit the company file.
This is located in your sage installation folder (c:\program files\sage\accounts\)
double click on the file, it has no extension so a box will pop up and ask you what to use to open it. Use NOTEPAD.
The file should contain one line of text being the path to your data.
Save it
reopen sage and it should work.

Hi Bruce
Thanks so much for your reply... had almost given up hope of a solution!
Forgive my ignorance but, to recap...
I go to my existing sage installation program folder rather than the new installation that I am seeking data for?
Then, NOTEPAD at the ready I go to c:\programfiles\sage\accounts ...then I have a whole bunch of files and sub folders... where do I go from here?
And having found the data path, I paste that same path into the same path in the new sage installation?
Sorry if I'm asking you to explain stuff that seems obvious, but you're talking to someone that thought Sage was something that went nicely with onion and was good for stuffing chickens with
Cheers

You should only have one installation on the workstation.
It should be in c:\program files\sage\accounts\
Go to that directory and find a file called "COMPANY" it has no file extension so when you double click it windows will ask you what to open it with. Choose notepad.
Edit/Add a line with the path to the data
eg
S:\Sage\
