Email settings for remittance advice Sage Line 50 2007

Post by Helen » 27 Mar 2008, 19:27

I cant find how to set up the email settings on Sageline 50 2007, I use Outlook for emails and want to be able to pick up the email addresses from the contacts file. How do I find where to set up the email settings and what should I put in them?(in words of one syllable because I am rather a beginner in this!)
All advice much appreciated!

You can not pick up addresses from the contacts file, you have to enter them against each supplier/customer.
For just about anything Sage :- Discount subscriptions, pay-as-you-go support, application integration, reports, layouts, linked excel spreadsheets, analysis or any other help making life with sage easier/less time consuming Contact me.

email settings

Post by Helen » 29 Mar 2008, 08:21

THanks, I will enter them individually, but can you tell me how to set up the outgoing server details etc, I cant find the right place to do it. In the help it says I can do the following:
1. Click on Tools > Options.

The Options window appears.

2. In the options section, click on the Email Setup tab.

but I cannot find an email set up tab in tools on Sage line 50 2007
Can you advise?
Thanks

I seem to be going around in circles, I dont know whether I have accidentally set the email options and it wont give me the opportunity to get into that menu, but I cant find anywhere where I can set up the email settings. Please can someone advise! In the old version of Sage I had, I didnt have any problem - must have been quite simple to set up as i used it for years!
Would be very grateful!

As you use Outlook, you do not need to configure anything, you just need to set Outlook as your default email program.

I really am useless and I am sorry but Outlook is my default on the PC, do i have to change something in Sage? Words of one syllable please! because it keeps coming up with error messages like your email settings for this report are not yet configured. Do you want to send the entire report as an attachment.(which I dont!) etc
I have found the email set up tab in remittance layout in report designer, do i set this at MAP! or smtp, if i choose mapi and send a test email it says successfully sent but nothing is received. If i choose smtp it says email failed to send.
