shows green?
I just get a greyish Icon...
Whejn you install manufacturing it should create a blank database in sql, that you can then restore your data into...
Are you sure this is sage line 50 manufacturing you are installing?

You mean the tiny green "play" triangle?
Maybe you are on an older version than I am used to
Right clicking on it and about, I get
Microsoft SQL Service Manager version 8.00.2039
Hope you get something similar.
----------------------------------
You should have installed SQL server
and then installed Manufacturing not the other way around.
I assume
- you did both of these as you have SQL running and you have the utility to point to data
- that you did them in the right order
- that you didn't have any other versions of sql already installed or anything unusual it is a new server out of the box.
- you are doing this installation on the server rather than a workstation (so we know it is not windows firewalls or anything silly)
Sounds like it failed to create the SQL database during install or that you are not pointing at it. Or it is pointing at another SQL server on the network
Things to try...
Using the buttons at the end of the SQL Main Server box and see if you can find it. (not sure if the prior version had them)
The SQL Main Server is normally FILESERVER\SAGEL50 where FILSERVER is the name of your server.
Uninstall and then reinstall Line 50 Manufacturing
Post a screenshot of the config utility.
