Pricing Problems

Post by bjsimpkin » 15 Oct 2007, 09:37

I've been having problems trying to set up sage 2008. We never get a fixed in price from our supplier. The price for the same product code can be different on every job. When i change the in price in a new record, it always changes all the other records to the latest price. Is there any way i can stop this?

Thanks

I am not sure I understand what you mean.

Product records carry a cost price, but the actual cost of each batch purchased is recorded in the product transaction records (look at activity) and is used in valuations, not the price on the product record.

The product record price is a guide used when ordering, you would normally overwrite this if the price was different and this would be written back to the product record. when goods come into stock off the purchase order, they will come and be recorded on the product transaction at the price on the purchase order not the price on the product record.
