Variable in report name

Post by Lectrician » 31 Jul 2022, 09:13

Hi.

When I print an invoice layout to PDF (rather than using Sages in built email option), the PDF file name created is the name of the layout. I would like to insert a variable (invoice number) to this. I cannot see this is possible?

These days, while many invoices get emailed, many also end up being send via messenger, WhatsApp etc, and so I tend to save the PDF and then do what I need with it.

If it is not possible, it's not a major issue, it would just speed things up!

Thanks.

The name of the report can be configured and can use an expression, but only when emailing from in Sage.

You could use an email alias that routes the back to you and outlook could run some VBA on those to put them in a specific location when they arrive.

It is a rather round about way to do it, but it would work.
