Drill downs

Hi Bruce,

Just stumbled across this feature and think it will be really useful. May result in me abandoning the use of batch report to show info in slightly diff ways.

I have a report Sales invoice summary....I want to click an invoice number (drill down target) on my report and for it to open my Detailed invoice summary just for said invoice.

Ive tried it but it doesn't run it straight away it asks for my criteria details of the sub report?

Is my understanding wrong that I can click inv no. of orig report and it can run secondary detailed report just for said invoice without entering criteria?

You need to set up criteria on the sub report.

Edit the parent report and select the item that hyperlinks to the sub report.

In the Properties pane find Drill Down and click the ... button to the right

I assume you have already set the sub report so go to the advanced tab

Here you will see the criteria for the sub report.

Use the Edit button and set the To/From values to values from the parent report and these will be p[assed to the sub report criteria when it runs.
