Restoring data from v12 to v10 - can it be done!!???

I have been given a copy of a clients data in Instant Accounts v12 but I use Financial Controller v10. Is there a way I can restore the data from v12 into v10? I've tried amending the suffix to .001 instead of .003, but it's now asking me for a password, and they didn't have a password.

Sage backups are not backwardly compatible
