Matching Prices Between Excel & Sage..

Hi,

I have been using an order form created in Excel (.xls format) to create an order & pick list for some products in Sage. We would have excel add up the total for the products, with the same prices for the products in sage.

We have always found that the two never actually match though which can be a real pain.

I would rally love to correct this if anyone can help?

For example, we have a product priced at:-

£0.17 Ex Vat
£0.20 Inc Vat

This is correct.

However if we change the product quantity to 100 we have

£17.00 Ex Vat
£20.40 Inc Vat

Surely it should be £20.00 ? Or am I missing something here?

If anyone knows how to solve this, I would really appreciate it...

Can anyone help with this?

Another example would be this :-

in excel, I have a calculation for the vat

Ex total is £2.88
Inc vat total is £3.45

If I put £2.88 as the ex vat price in sage
it makes the inc vat total £3.46

Surely there is a way to solve this, I would really appreciate it if anyone can help on this?

If you are using Excel to calculate your VAT on the order lines, it's usually a question of how many decimal places you are calculating to. Sage does it to 5 decimal places if I remember correctly (but only displays to 2 if Sage 50)

Cheers

Sage calculates each line, then rounds the VAT on each line to 2 decimal places, then adds up all the lines.

If you do it this way in excel both should match.
