moving sage to new pc......

sage software: Professional 2014 (version 20.04.09.364)
after months of complaining about our steam driven pcs, the powers that be have finally presented some of us with a shiny new one..yay!
we have our IT support guys coming in to set them all up in a week or so. Mine is the only one with standalone systems on it, Sage being the most important. Our It guys have done sage installs etc, so should be fine, but when i spoke to one he was a bit concerned that i don't have any disks (as we downloaded our recent upgrade directly from sage - via Bruce@making it happen).
do you have any guides/info/do's n don'ts (idiots crib sheet?) for transferring sage to a new pc, or can you point me in the right direction (no sage support at present). I have learnt from several experiences over the years that sometimes things don't always go to plan so would be a great help to have access to tried & tested methods..........
for info: old pc is running "vista for business - 32 bit". New pc is "Windows 7 - 64 bit".
many thanks in advance.

I would do a full Backup.

Install the new software on the new server (Stick the CD in and follow prompts, or run downloaded package)

Restore the backup on the new server, (note the name of the file share it creates) let it convert, make sure everything is okay.

On each work station insert CD and install, navigate to file share noted earlier. It should connect up and everything should be fine.

we dont have any Sage CDs, do we just logon to Sage and download (as we did for our upgrade) the software onto new pc (we dont have Sagecover so dont think Sage will talk to me or help with this). Is it fairly straightforward for us to download? i just wondered if there would be a any licensing issues / password / activation code problems??
thanks
