Reports Preview in Sage 50 - suddenly stopped working

Hi,

We have come across a strange one with Sage 50 Professional 2013.

One of our users has been generating reports happily for months in preview and direct to print. Then suddenly yesterday, the user cannot preview or print reports, only export them to PDF.

When you try to preview a report - an error box pops up saying:

The report can not be generated.
The file exists.

We have re-installed Sage and still this error appears.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks, BCKWhite

If an administrator logs into windows on that PC does it have the same issue?

Has someone been messing with access rights, hiding files?

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your reply.

The user has full administrative priviledges on the PC and in answer to the explicit question has not changed access rights or hidden any files.

We have just turned off the firewall/anti-virus without any change in result.

If you edit the report, the printer identifed there is the correct one. This is also the default printer.

We can print normally from the PC and also once exported a PDF from Sage, that can also print.

Do you have any other ideas?

Regards,

HI,

Having exactly same problem as yours with sage reports and the error "The report could not be generated. The file exists", exporting to PDF works fine, did the clean install of sage work?

Perhaps the files that already exists is a temporary file, cleaning out the temp folder may help?
Ccleaner is a nice tool for such a job, just skip the options to install chrome and set it as default browser.
