Importing data into Sage

I am looking at the possibility of installing sage as the first computerised accounting system for a friend's company. It's been a while since I've used it, I have tended to use industry-specific software for the past ten years or so but Sage looks ideal for this company. I have a couple of questions, however.

1) At present invoices are produced from data in Excel. From memory I used to be able to import from an Excel day book and cashbook (having tooped and tailed the data), can I still do this on the latest Line 50 Financial controller?

2) Is there still a multi-company version available, or do we need to buy licences every time a new company arrives on the scene?

Many thanks

Multi company licences are available.

You can not import into the invoicing module, only into the audit trail with the standard Line 50 products, you also need to log everyone out to be able to do that.

However there are third party products that we use for custom integration that allow importing into the invoicing module and with users logged in.
