Wierd error with Sage 50

Post by kxcww » 10 Sep 2013, 17:15

I had a weird occurrence with one of our Sage 50 Accounts 2012 instances. I opened the Sage program on a PC and it said that the last user was had not closed the program properly or something like that. I can't remember the exact message. I rebooted the machine and tried again. Sage said that there was some error and I should check the data. I clicked ok to do a check, it then said that there is an error with the "icons" or something. I'm sorry I didn't record the exact messages :/

Sage then booted. I did a data check from File > Maintenance > Check data. It checked out ok. Everything seems to be working normally, except that when Sage is booted it no longer asks for a login (username & password) to open the company, which it used to.

Sorry that the information is vague. I've done File > Maintenance > Check data and it says that everything is correct. Should I stop worrying?

I think you need to check you data is not an old set, look in the audit trail and check recent things are there, other than that you should be fine if it passes check data etc. You might want to reindex and compress just to make sure everything is good.
