Help with Expressions (i think)

Post by swaith » 21 May 2013, 10:34

Hi there chaps sorry to be a leech but I would very much like some assistance. Please be gentle I’m new to this!

Essentially I am helping someone add a product list to sage, I nailed the easy importing but on making a bar-code book I need to add in product images to my bar-code report BUT I would like for it to be item specific. In the product information pane I can add in an image but when generating the report I can’t see an option to add in this image to the report.

For instance I select 10 products, so far I get a print out with the description, the category, the price and the bar-code just as I want them.

However I would like to add next to this a picture pane that takes the data from the same source as the product information so next to the unique product bar-code there is an image that relates directly to the product.

I hope somone can help ~

Best regards,

Pete

Sounds like you are just trying to print the product images on the layout.

Is this right?

Is the bar code stuff and importing a red herring?

Could you upload the layout/report you have done so far?

this old posting may also help

Putting an image in a report based on data in the report

Post by brucedenney » 21 May 2013, 14:42

You need to add an image use the option "Build an expression to select an image" then enter an expression to define the path to the file containing the image as per the link in the previous post. Note that the field WEB_IMAGE_FILE only contains the name of the file, not the full path to the file bear in mind the need to escape the backslashes in paths.

Can you grab a screenshot of the purple?
