Listing by date and not transaction number

Post by carolinei » 28 Jan 2013, 13:53

Hi,

I want to do an all items statement, but show everything listed by date and NOT by transaction number. The reason being we made some corrections and I am issuing an all items statement, but it is showing the 2009 corrections at the very end of the statement after my 2012 invoices as it is listed by transaction number.

I am using Sage 50 2009 V15 and am okish with report designer, I just cannot see how to change it to date.

Any help would be appreciated.

With Regards

Caroline

Hi Caroline

If you open up the statement in the report designer you will see that there is a section HEADER_NUMBER, this forces a sort on the data.

What you need to do is to insert another group section based on AUDIT_HEADER.DATE above the HEADER_NUMBER header group (or below the footer) this will make it group/sort the date and then by transaction number within each date.
You can hide the section as there is no need to print anything in it.

Attached is a date statement, but I did it in V2012, so might work for V2009

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the response, but when I do that they are still showing by transaction number and note by date. An example is one of the girls in the office deleted a sales receipt from 2010 in error, we entered the receipt back into sage using the sames dates that it had originally been entered.

When I now do an all items statement the 2010 receipt is showing at the bottom of the 2013 invoices and payments which looks totally wrong. I want it to be listed by the date it was issued, not entered.

Rgds

I understand what your issue is.

What I suggested doing should have fixed it.

Can you attach your altered layout to a posting and I can see what has gone wrong.

Did you try the statement layout that I posted?
