taking out an error
taking out an error
I have done a year end and realised that I have a amount left on one of my supplier accounts. I need to delete this entry but unable to by the correction method. I need to delete so i can delete the supplier i know longer need. Can someone help me. Can I just say not sure what version weither it is dos or what. My client started using it in around 2009/2010 but it is sage 50.

You can remove is by posting a back dated credit note or invoice.
You can then clear the audit trail again. However you need to be careful not to clear backdated transactions entered after the year end.

Thank you brucedenney for your answer. You might think me dumb but I have not done an audit trail yet. Im not sure if one has been done and do i need to do one when the business is small and does not have many transactions a year. Thanks I did an exam on sage but these things were not taught.

Clearing the audit trail is not always needed.
Oops I forgot to say, posting a back dated transaction will create a B/F figure so you should post it to 3200 so that is it part of the opening P&L Balance form last year.
If it is an inconsequential amount, you could always reverse it in this year and to the normal nominal.
