sage not registering any more transactions

I ran an audit check the other day and noticed that the last 20 transactions are not showing on file maintenance.
Have checked that the invoices and bank payments that I did have registered against the supplier accounts and they have. Audit numbers 4100 onwards.
When I go into file maintenance these transactions do not show.
file maintenance goes up to audit number 4099 and wont go any further.
the 20 transactions that arent showing are audit numbers 4100 onwards, if I search for them on file maintenance it says they are not found, but they are showing on the supplier accounts.
Has anyone else come acccross this??

sorry, I meant to say the version I am running is 6.1.7601 on windows 7

If you run Check Data, do you get any errors?

First thought it could be a Search applied to hide things, but you don't get them in error corrections on V6

Sounds like an indexing issue to me, I have a funny feeling there was no option to re-index in those days.

I wonder if we had to delete the index files and sage would spot it and recreate them.

You need to backup first whatever you do.

Been a very long time since I've seen v6 and, to be honest, I'm not even sure that it had indexes on the transaction files...

OP - As Bruce says, take a backup then go to the data folder which, by default, will be c:\program files\sage\accounts\accdata - in that folder is there a file SPLITIDX.DTA?

I forgot to ask earlier - if you go to Financials, do the 'missing' transactions appear?

no they dont, but they do print out on the audit trail which is baffling?

Hi, have had some help on this from another source also, have been told to go to financials and click on the 'all records' little search icon and hey presto the 'missing' transactions have appeared!!

One little query, I have to keep clicking this icon to refresh sage and get all my transactions to appear.
I never had to do this before, does this mean I have a gremlin in my programme, is this normal?

You have a search applied.

It is normal

Press the search button hit discard and save and it will stop happening.
