Problems with Sage Software Update screen

Hi guys

Can you help please, I am using Sage 50 Accounts 2009 on Windows Vista.

When I logon to my Sage I put my password in and then a screen called Sage Software Update pops up over the top of my Sage home page. I can see my accounts behind the box and the box is completely white except for two small box outlines on the bottom RHS. It appears to be spooling but nothing happens, even after 30 mins (the circle just keeps rotating). I can't get any further than this.

I have completed a clean install and still the same. I have been using the software for 18mths with no problems. Recently I tried to install Sage Instant on the same computer but deleted it without using it as I decided to put it on a different laptop. Since then this problem has occurred. Clearly there is an error somewhere but I don't know where to look. Its as though the software is looking for updates but cant find them and just continues to look.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

I wonder if when you installed Sage Instant it found your Sage 50 installation and upgraded it (you didn't say what version of Instant you installed).

Doing a clean reinstall having delete all your settings and data should have fixed it. Unless the data you restored had been backed up in Sage instant after conversion.

Did you delete all the folders listed in the clean reinstall procedure?

I would have another go, don't bother with un installing .net this time as I am pretty sure that is not the problem.

After reinstalling go to http://www.sage.co.uk/au and download all the updates for V2009 and apply them all manually to get yourself up to date.
