Financial year

I have just started using Sage 50 2012 and am setting it up. I will be entering data from my old accounts package for the year to date.

I am unsure what financial year date to enter. Our year runs from 1 July 2011 - 30 June 2012.

the message says:

"enter the date in which your financial year is to start"

I entered July 2011 but should I have entered July 2012? - given that is is now March 2012.

The screen at the bottom of Sage has todays date and July 2011.

I have not entered any data so changing it should not be a problem.

You enter it as July 2011 which will give you the June 2012 year end you require.
