Migrate Line50 data to NAS box storage?

Hello I currently have a windows XP peer to peer network with Sage Accounts Professional 2011 (V11) on 5 pc's. One of the clients is used to share the Line50 data to the other users via mapped drives but this pc is starting to run very slow so I wish to move the data to a NAS box folder share and mapped drive letters.

What is the best way to achieve this as I have seen various postings on the web that doing this sometimes slows down Sage?

NAS boxes are generally implementations based on Linux using Samba and either work great or create a load of corruption.

It all comes down to OpLocks and not all NAS allow you to configure this part of Samba

Best bet it to try it and see. (Have backups to hand)

Thank you for your feedback ... The NAS I am looking at is the Synology DS411+ii Seeing page 48 of the manual here ... http://ukdl.synology.com/download/ds/us ... er_enu.pdf it appears to have the OptLocks ability.
