Customer Activities do not retain view transaction settings

Sage 2012 has been a huge improvement on previous releases . The mobile ap works really well and speed is no longer the issue .
There is a small glitch in the Customer activity . If I chose to show just this financial year , it keeps on reverting back to show all transactions when I re-open a customer activity . This doesn't apply to supplier activity which retains the settings .
I've just installed update 3 for Sage 50 2012 and all of a sudden , outlook has speeded up . It used to take a while to send a mail , whereas it now sends it straight away . This has to be a coincidence....doesn't it ?
