Sage 50 Accounts 2012 Slow Performance

We upgraded from Sage 2011 to Sage 2012 mainly due to performance issues with lockouts and delays.

Since the upgrade we have not had any lockouts as such but the performance is very slow. Our setup is 8 locally installed clients using laptops with 4gb of memory on a 1gbps network. The database is on our file server and is accessed by at least 6 people at a time.

Invoicing in particular slows the system down, we don't see the boxes anymore when its frozen but it still takes at least a minute from pressing the button to completion.

Any help or ideas ???

There are lots of possibles.

What operating system is the server running?
What antivirus in on the server?
What antivirus is on the clients

Did you configure your anti virus for sage 50?

Have you check our sage 50 performance tips?

Our server runs windows server 2008 and our clients are on windows 7.

We use Kaspersky AV on server and clients and the support company we use have followed the Sage AV advice.

You say "it still takes at least a minute from pressing the button to completion."

Can you be clear what you do... and where the delay happens e.g.

I select a single invoice
I right click and select update ledgers
The dialogue for the report output comes up after a few seconds
I choose preview and press the ok button
There is a delay of 60 seconds and the report appears.

Is invoicing the only place where you are experiencing slow performance?
What version where you on prior to upgrading?
