Sage Line 50 Account Plus v 7

Hi, I have used Sage v7 for many years, but my accountants have recently asked me to upgrade. Trouble is my company do not have enough money to upgrade to the latest version.
I asked Sage and they did not seem v interested in assisting, as having used Account Plus all our info is stored that way in their back up files, I could prob easily more to the instant software selection, but apparently my backup files will not work to restore to them.
Am getting frustrated as we are running on a v v low funding, we cannot justify £500 on software, and to be honest our company needs are not at the Accounts Plus level anymore. But we are a small PLC and need to have the history on our accounts for audit etc, so I need to be able to change to a system that enables me to use the backup to carry on with the accounts.
Any thoughts or assistance is greatly greatly appreciated!
