Debtors Control balance does not equal aged debtors value

Should the net value of transactions for a defined period, taken from the Day Book equal the sum of values taken from Daily Transactions (for the same defined period)?

				Which net values?
Are you including all transactions, journals, bank acocunts and so on?
There is no day book, so I assume you are talking about the balances on the daybook reports.
It would be helpful to know what you are comparing and perhaps why?
In general, it would be safe to assume that the net value of the transactions in the sales part of the nominal ledger would match with the day book totaals (all of them added together invoices discounts and credits) however, if you have invoices going to expensea accounts or bank recipts going to sales accounts then this would not be the case.

Many thanks for such prompt reply apologies for lack of clarity!
Perhaps the following is an improvement-
1. At the end of Month 1 the value of Debtors outstanding according to the Trial Balance, agreed in value with the Aged Debtors Report at the same date
2. At the end of Month 2, the value of Debtors outstanding according to the Trial Balance is less in value than the value in the Aged Debtors Report.
3.The value of the movement in the Trial Balance values between Months 1 and 2 for the Debtors Control, is equal to the movement in the Nominal Ledger Debtors Control Account, as would be expected.
In short, the value of debtors according to the Aged Debtors report at the end of Month 2 is greater than the value according to the Control Account at the same date.
How can i identify the individual transactions that account for the movement in the Aged Debtors Report in Month 2 so that i can compare them with the transactions in the Nominal Ledger Debtors Control Account for the same period?
The Trial Balance at the end of Month 2 is still in 'balance'
I'm baffled :!:

				Thanks for the added clarification.
Which trial balance are you talking of, the balance of the nominal account or a date filtered balance for a period?
If you go to the customers module and use the aged option (with no search applied) then at the bottom it gives you the control and the ledger balances which should be the same.
Is this the case for you?

Thank you for your continuing help. It is a date filtered TB, (the debtors control figure is the figure which also appears in the Balance Sheet)
