Importing CSV File Hangs at Pass 2

Hi,
Sage has been working fine for some months now. However, yesterday morning while trying to import a CSV file, it started to hang. Sage does Pass 1 ok, and goes from line 1 - line 95 (of a 95 line csv file). Then starts pass 2, but hangs at line 1.
I've tried on another desktop, but it hangs also, so its not an issue with my desktop, or the software installed. I've looked through the data in the CSV file, and it all looks valid, no non alpha numerical characters, or invalid characters. And have tried just importing single rows from the file, in a new CSV file. But Sage still hangs at Pass 2, Line 1. Also, when I make a payment to a supplier it freezes and doesn’t post, and also when I want to change the account on an already posted invoice.
Can anyone suggest how to fix this? Its quite urgent as its stopping us making payments to suppliers.
We're running Sage Line 50 v14.0.12.153, on Windows XP SP3, desktops are Dell OptiPlex GX270s with 2.1Ghz CPUs & 2GB Ram.
Many thanks
Ben
