Emailing Sales Invoices from Sage

To anyone who reads this!
I would like to email invoices from Sage to some of our customers, and at the moment Sage will allow me to email an existing invoice layout, however, today I created a new invoice layout (its a copy of the email invoice if that makes any difference), adapted it so we can use it to email our customers (I embedded our logo in it and just moved the address around a bit) and Sage will not let me email this new report.
When I am in print preview in the old layout, I click on EMAIL and then get a box up which I think says your email defaults are not set up correctly, would you like to send the invoice as a PDF (or something like that), I say yes and it lets me send the email no problem.
When I am in print preview in the new layout, when I click on Email, nothing happens at all.
Is there something in the layout I need to "enable" so it can be sent by email?
I am sure the answer is very simple - this is the first company that I have ever worked for which does not have the SAGE support and I feel a bit lost without it!!!
