I want to get a report on the sales levels for each product category. Is there a report in Sage that will give me this or do I have to write a custom report? If so what are the fields I need?

You would need to do something custom.

You would need the fields you wanted to include.

The technique is to have a report that list all items on all invoices, sorted by category code and with subtotals for each category, once you have this, you then hide the details section and only print the subtotals for each category and you have your sales by category report.
